What Are the Benefits of Being the World’s Tallest Building?

What are the benefits of being the world’s tallest building? Many would say that the main benefit of being the world’s tallest building is fame and recognition, but it’s important to remember that fame isn’t everything—it doesn’t pay the bills or allow you to go on vacation. Instead, what are some of the other benefits of being the world’s tallest building?

No. 1: One-of-a-kind Luxury
According to Forbes, which put Burj Khalifa at No. 5 on its list of best places to live and work, there is nothing quite like it. The tallest building in every major city you visit; views that have never been seen before; guests who have never been outside your tower walls. It’s a one-of-kind experience—one that you can enjoy only if you are…well, one-of-kind yourself. A building doesn’t become world’s tallest without a culture and history all its own—in fact, it takes more than just height and engineering prowess. It takes an innovation mindset. It takes an eye for detail. It takes a commitment to sustainability and excellence that has no equal. And when you live in a place like Burj Khalifa, those qualities are hardwired into your life from day one.

No. 2: Exclusive Amenities
One major benefit to being in a supertall skyscraper is having access to exclusive amenities. Many countries, including Saudi Arabia and China, are planning megatall skyscrapers that will contain everything from hotels and shopping centers to private residences. In Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, residents have access to an array of unique amenities including a library, swimming pool, basketball court and health club with panoramic views of palm-tree lined streets. For those who work at home or don’t need all that space on a daily basis there are shared facilities such as kitchens and meeting rooms so you don’t always have to go out when you need a place for team meetings or brainstorming sessions. The building also offers its tenants Sky Park—an outdoor area located on top of the tower where people can come together for events and get some fresh air. If you do want to venture outside of your building, however, there are plenty of things to do nearby like attending one of Dubai’s many festivals or visiting one of its famous beaches. There’s even a ski slope just outside town if you want to experience wintertime fun without leaving your country! The possibilities really are endless when it comes to living in a world-famous skyscraper like Burj Khalifa. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and start packing! You won’t regret it!

No. 3: Fastest Elevators on Earth
Green buildings tend to be faster than non-green ones. That’s because they typically have larger windows and bigger atriums, which let in more light and ventilation. For example, it takes 12 minutes to travel up all 163 floors of Burj Khalifa in Dubai—which means an average speed of 21 mph (not counting getting on and off). By comparison, it takes 34 minutes to make a trip from the street level to street level in New York City’s Empire State Building. We may not always appreciate how quickly elevators whisk us between floors, but just imagine what else could be accomplished with that time!

No. 4: Spectacular Views from Floor 124
The Observation Deck is on Floor 124, but unfortunately that floor isn’t open to tourists. However, standing at any level higher than 122 gives you spectacular views (and some pretty impressive vertigo). The observation deck is open every day from 9am-10pm; tickets are sold in 15-minute increments and there is no additional charge for taking pictures. [Source: Huffington Post]

No. 5: A Proud Historical Legacy
The Burj Khalifa is not only a spectacular tourist attraction; it’s also a powerful symbol of innovation, human achievement and global collaboration. As Dubai continues to grow as a global hub for business and tourism, attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, The Burj Khalifa will no doubt continue to act as an icon for progress and development. And that legacy will be a proud one indeed. (CNN)
